“As a user of this host for over 3 years I can say that this site is incredibly over farmed. My reason for using it was strictly that 3 years ago they offered a competitive price, however, as technology has significantly improved competitors now offer better prices while their price have stayed the same and their servers have become bloated and more and more unreliable. My users constantly complain that they are blocked from my website since Imhosted will block IP addresses indefinitely when their server becomes overloaded and Imhosted keeps these IP blocks secret so that as the owner of a website, I can’t even tell when a user of my website has been blocked. “Please stay away at all costs! I currently have 2 sites on ImHosted. I asked for an updated release of PHP, as they were still using 4.4.5? on the shared server I was on. All they told me was that they will be updating their servers in a couple of days. Now, my sites have been inaccessible for days. I am not sure what they did, and their support is the worst. Verdict of this ImHosted Review
As mentioned in the summary, imhosted appears to be a company that has lived beyond its life expectancy. The fact that there are no reviews out there for the company that are within a year old, tells me that there aren’t that many new clients coming to the site. In fact, most reviews were from 2005-2007, which is considered ancient in the Internet Age.
Because of all the poor reviews out there were dated from before 2009, I would remain cautious with this company. They claim to have a 99.98% uptime, but on several reports I saw, there were outages at least once a week, if not more. They do offer a 30 day trial of the services, so take advantage of it for a month, but keep track of how often the service is unavailable to protect your future investment.
I can only rate imhosted as a 2.5/5, but may rate higher if there were more recent and positive reviews.
